MEMBERS of Upton Tae Kwon Do School brought home another cache of medals in the final NITA open tournament of the year in Hereford.
Black belt junior Jim Schermer, aged 12, took bronze in the boys’ pattern competition and brought home two silvers in the boys middle weight, sparring in the point-stop and continuous categories.
Fellow club member Ryan Hill, aged 14, fought through to win bronze in the red belt boys’ light heavy sparring division.
Club instructor and coach, Laura Hill also took a bronze medal in the black belt ladies’ pattern competition.
She said: “I am so proud of all my club members who went to Hereford to compete.
“Tae kwon do isn’t all about tournaments and many members prefer not to fight but it takes a lot of courage to present yourself at competition and it’s rewarding when the students come home with medals.”
