Malvern Town 2, Boldmere St Michaels 4.

MALVERN Town started brightly in this Aspire Midland Alliance clash and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 15 minutes.

Striker Troy Wood beat his man and fired home from 18 yards.

This woke Boldmere up and, three minutes later, a short corner was eventually played into the box and Tom Stevenson’s shot was finger-tipped away by Alex Hards in the Malvern goal.

In the 24th-minute the ball was played to Ricky Baker who chested it down and then chipped the advancing Hards but the goal was disallowed for offside.

Three minutes later Boldmere drew level.

A right-wing cross found Simeon Tulloch to head home for the visitors.

Malvern’s play went from bad to worse with the players unable to find their man and, just before the break, Tom Laws score.

The hosts made a change at the start of the second-half and five minutes later were forced into making another substitution when Ryan Clarke was injured.

In the 57th-minute the ball was played into Boldmere’s box, Andrew Crosskey’s shot was parried and Wood’s effort was cleared off the line.

Two minutes later Tulloch header went wide for the visitors.

Boldmere started the increase the pressure on the Malvern goal.

In the 72nd-minute a free-kick taken by Neil Watkins was tipped away by Hards.

A minute later a throw-in went to Kirk Smith whose shot was tipped away by Hards but from the resultant corner the ball reached Laws to side-foot it in.

Malvern, although not playing anywhere near their best, tried to find another goal and five minutes from time the ball reached Craig Carter who fired past keeper Boldmere Sean Butler.

A minute later the ball was played upfield but Mike Rhodes was unable to get a foot to the ball.

In time added on, Boldmere substitute Mark Mason fired past Hards.
