A YOUTHFUL Malvern Town will line up tomorrow when they host Alvechurch in Aspire Midland Alliance (ko 3pm) after manager Chris Palmer was encouraged by their recent displays.

Defenders Ryan Clarke, Ashley Pardoe, midfielders Conor O’Callaghan and strikers Craig Carter and Mason Mansfield have given the Langland Stadium side’s manager food for thought after all starting in Town’s 1-1 draw with Tipton Town on Saturday.

Midfielder Bradley Birch was on the bench to make it six youth team players in the mix for the first-team.

After being encouraged by their display, Palmer is happy to continue with his starting quintet as his side aim to beat third-placed Alvechurch.

Defender Kyle Knott is set to return tomorrow after being sidelined by a groin injury.

Front-man Andrew Crosskey is back after being unavailable for the Tipton clash.

Alex Hards will start in goal as Lewis Skyers is at a training camp with the England blind squad.

Centre-back Craig Brown (groin) is still out. Malvern were scheduled to play Pershore Town in the Worcester Infirmary Cup last night (Thursday) after it was postponed the previous Thursday.

Palmer: “It’s encouraging and pleasing to see the youth team players doing well in the first-team.

“I will definitely stick with them and they have all done well for us so far.

“The youth team players have really put down a marker with their performances.”
