IT was another jam packed weekend of action for our two running clubs, as well as an international themed couple of days for the Triathlon club.

Malvern Triathlon members competed in four countries across three different continents.

On a visit home, Nick Arnst ran the Manawatu Striders Half Marathon in New Zealand, in a time of 1:57:48. Elsewhere in the southern hemisphere, Tobias Hardy completed his first ever half marathon, the Nilson Lima event in Uberlandia, Brazil.

Back in the UK, Bleddyn Davies competed in The ROC Wales, an endurance triathlon event totalling a 1500m swim, 100km bike and 13km run which included an ascent of Mount Snowdon. Much closer to home, Chris Grubb came second overall in the double event at the Worcester Lakeside Triathlon.

Malvern Joggers running club had a busy weekend of racing, sending a team to The Severn Valley Parkrun with a 1st 2nd and 3rd place for Henry Pugh and Ben Toon in 18.58 with Simon Richardson 19.03.

Malvern Joggers Vicky Savage started her epic The Cape Wrath Ultra, a 400km, 8-day ultra-running expedition through some of the world's most inspirational landscapes. Day one she finished in 3:27:27 in 26th place.

Finally, 29 Malvern Buzzards entered the Bulmer's Bash 5.5 mile race and several came away with position prizes.

These included 2nd overall Adam Wilson (35:26), Neil Warne (36:34), 2nd lady Sarah Armstrong (41:25), 3rd lady Margaret Kenchington (43:57), Kate Dolphin (45:11) and Alison Owens (FV45 - 44:16).

In other local running news Malvern Buzzard Tash Allcock was the first lady home for the Worcester Half Marathon with a time of 1:42:03.

Tim Alford was 10th male home with 1:30:00 and Keith Forde finished with 2:28:02.

Alan Southwick took on the full marathon and finished 14th male with a time of 3:56:14.
