THE young trio of Ted Hill, Fin Smith and Harri Doel have all been shortlisted for the Rugby Players Association (RPA) "15 under 23" team of the season.

The RPA announced the brand new campaign called "15 under 23" to highlight the young members who stand out each month in the 2021/22 season back in October.

The campaign has been running throughout the season, with the RPA nominating six players aged 23 and under who have shone each month for their sides in all competitions.

Each month their have been nominees for the award and all of those who have had a nomination will be put up for selection for fans to vote for their under 23 team of the season.

Warriors captain Hill is up against Saracens' Ben Earl, Harlequins' Jack Kenningham, London Irish's Tom Pearson, Newcastle Falcons' Josh Basham and Andy Christie of Saracens.

The fly-half category is a highly competitive one that is likely to be won by Harlequins' Marcus Smith but Worcester's 19-year-old number 10 Smith is up for a vote alongside Will Haydon-Wood from Newcastle Falcons, Jacob Umaga (Wasps) and Bath's Orlando Bailey.

The full-back nominations alongside Doel are Tommy Freeman (Northampton Saints), Freddie Steward (Leicester Tigers), Ioan Lloyd (Bristol Bears), Henry Arundell (London Irish) and Josh Hodge (Exeter Chiefs).
