COLWALL’s tough start to the 2022 season in the Premier Division of the Worcestershire County League continued last weekend as they were thrashed by Stourbridge.

Dominic O’Reilly’s (6-13) first innings haul for the hosts decimated the Colwall batting order as they were bowled out for just 30 runs.

The hosts reached the target within four overs without the loss of a wicket.

The result leaves Colwall rock bottom after five games played.

Into Division Four and West Malvern solidified their place at the top of the table.

The newly promoted side won their fourth match of the season after securing a four wicket victory against Five Ways Old Edwardians 1st XI at the Masshouse last weekend.

The hosts posted 194 all out from 48 overs, with Rowan Dakin taking three wickets for Malvern.

Dakin would continue his impressive display on the day as he picked up the bat and scored 60 not out to help the visitors reach the target with four wickets to spare.

Dominic Weston scored 30 not out, with Elliot Bevan and Nick Pullan also adding valuable runs.
