Worcestershire Rapids Vitality Blast captain, Moeen Ali, produced another stunning performance with ball and then bat to help Comilla Victorians reach the final of the Bangladesh Premier League.

Moeen returned 3-20, including two wickets in two balls, as Qualifier Two opponents, Chattogram Challengers, were dismissed for 148 in 19-1 overs.

The all-rounder then smashed an unbeaten 30 from just 13 deliveries to see Victorians to their target in just 12.5 overs.

It was the third major contribution by Moeen in the space of five days.

Moeen and his team-mates will now take on Fortune Barishal in Friday’s final at the same venue in Mirpur.

Moeen came into the attack for the sixth over and destroyed the Challengers middle order in reducing them to 50-5.

He had Zakir Hasan (20) caught at mid on and his next delivery, flighted outside the off stump, led to Shamin Hossain (0) being stumped.

Moeen began with a double wicket maiden and in his second over struck again as Challengers captain, Afif Hossain, top edged a catch to short extra cover.

Sunil Narine gave the Victorians a flying start to their reply with 57 from 16 balls and then Moeen saw them over the finishing line.

He completed the victory with successive sixes off Shoriful Islam, over cow corner and fine leg.
