TEN-MAN Malvern Town played out a hard-fought, entertaining derby to share the spoils with Hereford Pegasus 3-3.

Town earned a point from their first Hellenic League Division One West game at the redeveloped HDanywhere Community Stadium despite having James Febery sent off in the first half.

Home keeper Charlie Weaver made a timely challenge just outside his area as Pegasus started with purpose.

Ethan Moran set George Hayes away at the other end and his effort almost looped over the keeper before Louis Loader fired wide from distance as Town started to get into their stride.

On the quarter-hour mark an inviting ball in from Loader was headed just wide by Harry Clark.

Then Loader threaded through Kyonn Evans who took the ball in his stride before seeing his attempt blocked.

There was no offside flag as Miles Langford broke away for the visitors but his strike was weak.

A rasping effort from Moran went just over but the opening goal arrived for Malvern on 27 minutes.

Clark and Moran linked up well for the latter to guide the ball home.

With 10 minutes to go until the break Febery was red carded following a challenge on Paul Jones.

Clark’s low drive was saved by Brandon Powell but the visitors levelled on 42 minutes when a cross-shot from Levi Ellis from the right found its way into the net.

Pegasus ended the half strongly but in injury-time Matt Turner teed up Moran who fired inches wide.

The second period started with Langford firing over from a good position and he then saw a strike deflected over.

But Malvern regained the lead just before the hour mark when Turner's cross was perfect for the head of Clark who made no mistake.

A low cross from Clark was scrambled away before Pegasus equalised again on 66 minutes when Jones fired home from inside the area.

It prompted a spell of pressure from the city side as Ellis curled inches wide and Tom Boyle almost profited from a loose clearance.

And Hereford went ahead for the first time when Rory Worthing found the net with a powerful drive in the 71st minute.

But soon afterwards it was 3-3 when Clark’s low cross was not cleared and Matt Fusco drilled a low effort home.

The sides pushed for the winner with Turner's low strike lacking the necessary power before both Clark and Bryan Craven were denied.
