MALVERN Town are bringing another football legend to the HDanywhere Community Stadium as they host an evening with Ray Clemence MBE.

The former England goalkeeper, who made over 1,000 appearances for the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, will visit on Friday, September 20, along with comedian Doddy Dodd.

Tickets are £30 each or £250 for a table of 10 which includes a hog roast.

They can be purchased by calling Shane on 07710 810874 or emailing hfs@historicfootballshirts.co.uk.  They will also be available from behind the bar in the clubhouse.

Meanwhile, Town's reserves get their Herefordshire County FA League Premier Division programme under way on Saturday.

Pete Daffin’s side will be looking to build upon last season’s fifth-place finish and are looking in good shape after a positive pre-season.

Malvern start the season at Kington Town (2.30pm).

“The lads have done really well,” said Daffin.

“They have worked hard and showed plenty of commitment in training whilst our eight friendly games have yielded seven wins.

“During that time we’ve scored 40 goals so we head into the new season full of confidence.

“We’ve managed to keep the majority of last season’s squad and added a number of new faces plus four talented lads from the under 18 team.

“It’s a tough start to the season playing all of our games away from home due to the stadium redevelopment but we are ready to go and already looking forward to Saturday’s opener at Kington.”

Malvern then tackle Holme Lacy on September 7, Kingstone Rovers on September 14 and Shobdon on September 21.
