BRANSFORD Golf Club seniors' summer league is looking like a three-horse race.

Gerry Rebbeck (14 handicap) leads Division One with 116 points after scoring 39 in the fifth round.

Trevor Atkinson (15) and Neil Holbrow (12) both scored 42 to creep closer with 114 and 109 respectively.

Roy Burston has 107 and Richard Steele, Mike Weaver and Terry Martin 105.

The competition takes into consideration the best three rounds out of the six played.

Other leading scores in the division were Leadbetter (15) 37, Graham Wilks (18) 35 and Dave Parry, Ferey Ghani and Terry Martin on 34.

Geoff Aston leads Division Two on 112 ahead of Alan Cockill on 110, Andrew Jarvis and Martin Linley on 109, Dave Lindsay on 107 and Dave Ryall and Barry Benge on 105.

Linley (21) won round five on a card countback after he and Harry Godwin (23) finished with 36.

Benge (21) had 32 and Les Clarke, Cockill, Bill Bowen and Keith Edgell 31.

Trevor Ditchfield (25) only scored 30 in the latest Division Three round but leads by 10 on 120 from Brian Curnock (27).

John Knowles (28) won on another card countback from Brian Taylor (26) after both scored 38.

Curnock had 36 and Charlie Hawkridge, Steve Littlewood, Paul Edlin and Dick Bettsworth 33.

Taylor has a total of 106 followed by Gerry McCurry, Knowles and Rob Lawrence on 101.

Bransford seniors' fine run ended with a 5-3 defeat at Wharton Park.

John Phillips (23) and Atkinson (16) won 5&4 and Andy Lamb (26) and Phil Spencer (18) 4&3 Andy Falconer (26) and Rob Blake (15) halved as did Adrian Wood (27) and Neil Sheldon (22).

Godwin (22) and Burston (13) lost two-down, Paul Edlin (24) and Mike Davidge 3&1, Alan Wallcroft (27) and Weaver (19) 4&3 and Gordon White (27) and Les Clarke (21) 3&2.
