FLOODS affected the Outlaw Nottingham long-distance triathlon which involved five Malvern competitors.

The race consisted of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike section and a marathon.

But the bike part was cancelled due to flooded roads.

Malvern athletes did themselves proud in tough conditions with Henry Walker 16th overall and fourth man aged 35 to 39.

He completed the swim in one hour two minutes 33 seconds and run in 2.59.51 for a total time of 4.02.24.

Stephen Clarke clocked 5.22.57 and David Dutton 5.56.22.

In the relay team Nigel Turner did the swim in 1.08.50 and Stephen Dick ran 4.35.55 for a total of 5.44.45.

The cyclists could run too with their section cancelled and Andy Rickard did a half marathon in 2.23.

At London Triathlon, Dave Potter finished in 2.33.03 in the Olympic distance of a 1.5km swim, 40km bike section and 10km run.
