TEENAGERS dominated The Worcestershire ladies' club championship at the Malvern Wells course.

It was played over two days and two juniors battled for top honours.

On day one in breezy conditions, Lauren Sharp shot 80 gross to lead by one from defending champion Grace Bowen.

Sharp continued her steady play on day two and shot another 80 including 13 pars.

But Bowen stepped it up a gear, going out in 34 to take a three-shot lead into the back nine which she held with a birdie at the last to win with a 36-hole score of 157 gross.

Joyce Duncan and Sally Dare won the Daily Mail Foursomes with 34 stableford points.

At the summer meeting Steven Lane took the overall win on countback from Chris Rawlings, Wayne Stinton and Phil Shurmer with all on 68 nett.

Les Facer took second in Division Three behind Stinton with 69 and Andrew Wickett third with 70.

In Division Two, Alan Boyd triumphed with 69 ahead of Graham Chatterton and Stuart Webb on 70.

Derek Lloyd won the midweek stableford from the yellow tees with 37 points on countback from David Townsley and Derek Wolfendale.

From the white tees David Linnie won with 36, one clear of Andrew Bird and Alan Taylor.

Harry Brimmell took the nine-hole junior competition with 22, four ahead of his nearest rival.
