THE top two clubs in Worcestershire League Division Six were left frustrated with winning draws.

Alveley remain the league leaders after being held by Old Vigornians who showed some resistance in the second innings.

Joe Pritchard (95), Dan Collins (65) and Dave Pugh (60) all made strong contributions for second-placed Hallow Taverners.

But in a high-scoring match Evesham posted too many for Hallow thanks to solid batting by Abdul Rahim (94), Ghayas Uddin (94), Malim Khan (83 not out).

Bromyard maintained their place at the summit of Division Seven following another impressive performance.

Zac Bernard-Pullen notched 92 in the first innings before Jamie Abell returned figures of 5-25 in their win against lowly Harvington. Sunny Parmar (105) and Ifziean Khan (5-15) ensured Old Hill stayed second by defeating Kidderminster comfortably.

Bromsgrove moved to third as Richard Barnes (88) played a pivotal role in their victory against Rushwick.

In Division Eight, leaders Cleobury Mortimer beat Kempsey convincingly to stay top, second-placed Bredon saw off visiting Wyre Foresters by three wickets and third-placed Birlingham secured a winning draw by just three runs in an exciting match against Eastnor.

Droitwich Spa made it five out of five in Division Nine as Ben Foster took a first innings (4-23) to help beat Romsley & Hunnington by six wickets.

This win moves them 34 points clear of West Malvern who beat Alveley by five wickets.

Old Elizabethans are in third as Tim Learys (61no) led them to a seven-wicket victory over local rivals Worcester.

In Division 10, Stone maintained their 100 per cent start to the season as Nathan Gage (75no) and Christopher Harler (57no) led them to an eight-wicket victory against Cookhill At the other end of the table, Hanley Castle & Upton claimed their first victory of the season by beating Pershore by five wickets.

Old Elizabethans continue to lead the way in Division 11 as they downed Belbroughton by seven wickets.
