SHOWING excellent early summer season form in the Bransford seniors ranks is Chris Cale.

The 19-handicapper followed up his win in the Mayor’s Chalice by winning the opening round of the seniors’ summer league although he was pushed hard by three other players on 36 points.

Cale’s win after also scoring 36 came on count-back which saw Mike Davidge (16 handicap) take second, Graham Wilks (17) third and Gerry Rebbeck (15) fourth in Division One.

Neil Holbrow (13) scored 35 and Roy Burston (12) and Trevor Atkinson (15) 33.

John Burston (21) just pipped Geoff Aston (20) after both notched 37 in Division Two.

Paul Edlin (24) managed 35, Ann Hayden (24) and John Phillips (22) 34 and David Lindsay (23) and Tony Bowman (22) 32.

Brian Curnock (28) scored 40 to finish four ahead of Mario Eastham (25) in Division Three.

Rob Lawrence (28) got 35, Trevor Ditchfield (30) 34 and Peter Harrison (25) and Gerry McCurry (26) 33.

The summer league has six monthly rounds with the best three scores of each player counting for league placings.

Bransford seniors chalked up their fifth successive summer win, beating visitors Little Lakes 5-1.

Andy Falconer (26) and Atkinson (15) won 2&1, Bill Bowen (22) and Davidge (16) two-up, Alan Wallcroft (25) and Ferey Ghani (17) 5&4, Phillips (22) and David Wild (14) 2&1 and Phil Spencer (19) and Cale (19) 4&3.

Lindsay (23) and Rob Blake (15) lost 7&5.

The main club's spring greensomes was close.

Mark Tipton and Andy Kennedy just pipped Stuart Freeman-Taylor and Roger Weston on countback with both on 42.

Jason Keane and Steve Collins claimed third spot on 41 from Harry Chadwick and Jack Cullity thanks to countback again.

Andy Goodall and Joe King and Marcus Moss and Karl Barnett both scored 39.
