MALVERN Town marched into the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Cup final with a 4-0 beating of higher-ranked Quorn last night.

Adam Sauntson, Matt Turner, Harry Clark and Dave Reynolds scored the goals in the commanding win at the HDanywhere Community Stadium.

The final will be against Lye Town at Alvechurch on Saturday, May 11 (2pm).

Kyonn Evans dragged a first-minute opportunity wide after breaking the offside trap as Town started strongly.

Home keeper Charlie Weaver saved from Brad Maslen-Jones and Nathan Dale curled a free-kick just wide at the other end.

The Quorn keeper gathered Louis Loader's strike at the second attempt but Town went ahead five minutes before the break when Sauntson deftly headed in a corner.

Harry Wickett was denied by the keeper but Malvern had a scare on half-time when a Quorn effort was disallowed for offside.

The visitors should have levelled early in the second period only for Weaver to save a penalty after being ruled to have fouled David Kolodynski.

Town doubled their advantage on the hour when a neat move ended with Turner guiding home Reynolds' pass at the far post.

Turner and Sauntson went close along with Clark but Weaver still had to be alert to save from Kai Tonge.

Malvern's third goal arrived through Clark’s speculative strike from the edge of the area.

An 88th-minute strike from Steve Webb was then parried into the path of Reynolds who made no mistake to complete the scoring.
