MALVERN Vale Firsts bounced back from a rare defeat with a 7-0 thrashing of hosts Gala Wilton Thirds.

The Cheltenham League Division Three leaders went ahead on 11 minutes when Andre Rodrigues slotted home Anthony Cakebread's assist.

On a tricky surface at Gloucester's Plock Court, Vale doubled their lead on 37 minutes when Edgar Sanha was brought down in the box and Rodrigues fired in a retaken penalty.

Just four minutes later he rounded off his hat-trick to give Vale a commanding lead at the break.

Rodrigues' cross was headed in by Cakebread five minutes into the second half.

Substitute Ethan Lambert rifled home an effort into the far top corner to score a rare goal and the left-back had another effort disallowed for offside.

Miguel Passaro was rewarded for his efforts when he scored two in five minutes with one a curled effort into the far corner.

The winger was unlucky not to grab a hat-trick as his header was saved.
