MANAGER John Snape has revealed striker Dave Reynolds is on Worcester City’s radar.

Hotshot Reynolds left City for Redditch United in September having notched 34 times in 54 matches in blue and white.

That step up two levels has not quite worked out, though, with game time becoming increasingly difficult to come by for the Malvern-based hitman.

It led to Reynolds registering with his hometown club in time to turn out in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at leaders Tividale in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.

With City having no fixture, Snape went along to The Beeches to catch up with a player who remains registered with Worcester.

Malvern’s joint-boss Lee Hooper last week said he hoped to retain the services of Reynolds for the rest of the season but Snape confirmed he would be out to spoil the party.

“We are in negotiations with Dave and I went to watch him play on Saturday,” said Snape.

“He is awaiting an offer from Malvern and contemplating his future. It will be down to him and about playing games between now and the end of the season.

“He desperately needs minutes because he has not been playing and I will be speaking to him again this week.

“Financially anything would have to be viable for the club and player so we will see what happens.”

City have found Reynolds hard to replace with no individual nailing down his berth but Snape insisted he would be no shoo-in for a start.

“We are looking at all options,” added Snape.

“There is Kyonn Evans, James Lemon, some of the younger lads and Jamal Lawrence who scored four for Black Country Rangers on Saturday.

“Ethan Moran can play there, too. There is a long list of forwards at the club and competition for places will be strong whether Dave is in there or not.”
