- The opening 20 minutes provided little in the way of action with Kyle Finn's effort at the goalkeeper the only attempt at goal.
- Josh Gowling and Hereford fans thought they deserved a 22nd minute penalty when the defender was bundled over inside the box.
- Nuneaton almost took the lead two minutes later when Ryan Edmunds flashed a cross across the face of goal, but nobody tapped home.
- However, it was Hereford who took a 25th minute lead when Tom Owen-Evans latched onto a long ball before beating the goalkeeper and sliding home into an empty net.
- Nuneaton responded and put the hosts under pressure with Miles Addison heading a first free-kick wide.
- And then at the second attempt the Boro leveled when Mike Calveley bundled home following a free-kick.
