MALVERN Buzzards' Chris Lewis-Farley claimed the honours at the tough Fan Dance on the Brecon Beacons.

Organised by Avalanche Endurance Events, he chose to do three 24-kilometre events over two days to make up the Fan Dance Trident while carrying a bag weighing around 42lbs.

Lewis-Farley finished six minutes with the lead runner on the first morning in three hours 26 minutes for second in the masters category and second overall.

He then clocked 3.05 for first in both and 3.40 for second and seventh respectively.

Lewis-Farley's total time of 10.11 clinched him a comfortable first place overall and in the masters section.

From last October, Buzzards' Neil Griffith took part in the Dirtrun Winter Warrior Series of four races at Brockhampton, Wyre Forest, Baggeridge and Dudmaston Hill.

Conditions varied throughout but all included lots of mud and hills.

Griffith achieved sixth place in his age group over the whole series.

Mike Anstey and Lynda Broadway completed the Rogue off-road night race, facing a 10k trail in the dark and clocking 56.11 and 1.04.34 respectively.

Buzzards organised a joint challenge with Brierley Hill Running Club as about 25 did a 10km route over the Malvern Hills and up to Worcestershire Beacon.
