IT was a busy weekend with two back-to-back cross country events.

Three Malvern Joggers travelled to Stretton-under-Fosse near Rugby for the annual County Cross Country Championships hosted by Warwickshire.

The senior and masters women ran a six-kilometre course while the senior and masters men did 10k.

The mainly flat course was in good condition with one relatively short hill climb.

Julie Caseley finished in 31 minutes 59 seconds while Andrew Brown finished the longer course in 51.12 and Ian Dyson in 51.38 to win a silver county medal in the men's veteran 60 age category.

On a mild and dry day three Joggers travelled to Queenswood Country Park between Hereford and Leominster for the third of five races in the Herefordshire Cross Country Winter League series hosted by Wye Valley Runners.

The 5.5-mile, hilly, challenging course was run on firm stone trails and grass over 1,100 feet of elevation.

Brown clocked 56.01, Paul Newman 57.26 and Caseley 1.03.00.
