STEVE Davies won Malvern Anglers' fur and feather match at Broadheath Fisheries.
A bright, sunny morning welcomed a good number of members for their much-anticipated match on Ash pool.
But after two cold days anglers were confronted with thin, patchy ice in their swims.
Given the cold water conditions fish were reluctant to feed and many competitors failed to catch.
A single carp of 7lb 4oz was enough to win the match for Davies.
But the best performance was from Paul Lane who caught small roach on maggots and worms to finish second with 5-15, leaving Clive Harman’s single carp 4-15 in third and Nigel Bayliss’ single carp of 2-4 in fourth.
Alan Perry managed 1-6, Lee Harman 1-5, John Shaw 1-0, Ken Yates 0-14 and Chris Loveridge 0-5.
