WORCESTER City manager John Snape hopes fleet-footed recruit Pierce Kiembi can create double trouble for Long Eaton United tomorrow (7.45).

The winger or forward has joined City from Coleshill Town and comes straight into contention for the Midland Football League clash at Grange Park.

Top scorer Jordan Harrison is available again after serving a one-match ban on Saturday with Snape bullish over his bolstered attack.

“Pierce has pace and is a box of tricks,” said Snape.

“He comes recommended for us to have a look at. He is local to the Bromsgrove area and someone we hope can bring something different as well as competition for places in forward areas.

“I would like to thank Cameron (Stuart, Coleshill manager) for waiving the seven-day notice period as well.

“With Jordan coming back in there is plenty of pace about our options which is never a bad thing.”

The boost will be particularly welcome on the back of striker Nick Turton being ruled out with a head injury, joining Jamie Smith (knee) and player-coach Mat Birley in the queue for the treatment table.

New signing Mason Birch, an unused substitute at Highgate United on Saturday, could debut.

“Turts took a knock to the head and I have decided he won’t be involved with a view to playing it safe,” said Snape.

“To the best of my knowledge it is not concussion but at the same time we don’t want to be taking any risks.

“Jamie is struggling with his knee and it is doubtful he will shake that off. Mat is very tight and is a doubt, although we do hope to have him in the squad.

“We will be looking to get Mason some minutes up there.”

Progress made during a 15-match unbeaten run has been halted by one point from three matches, seeing City slip to sixth and 11 points off top spot.

“We probably need to ruffle a few feathers to get us back to where we were,” said Snape.

“There is disappointment, and so there should be, but we are looking forward to seeing who is up for it.

“We will no doubt have fantastic travelling support again and hopefully we will see who really wants it.

“We have to win to get us back on track.”

Snape confirmed long-term absentee Andy Gallinagh is awaiting a scan on his damaged knee ligaments.

“It is a bit frustrating for Andy," added Snape.

"He has seen his doctor several times and is awaiting a scan. We thought it would on Tuesday but it seems to have been put back."
