A STOPPAGE-TIME winner denied Ledbury Town a point as they lost 2-1 to Ewyas Harold at New Street in Herefordshire FA County League Premier Division.

Pat Locke's and Dean Rutter’s side were quickly put on the back foot when Robert Cooper-Tomkins slipped the ball home just three minutes in.

After Curt Williams had a shot saved and Tom Boyle pushed his effort narrowly wide a terrific strike from Charlie Docherty drew Ledbury level on 20 minutes.

Ewyas Harold rattled the crossbar before Docherty struck the post as both sides remained locked at 1-1 at half-time.

And Ledbury looked set to claim a share of the spoils as neither team could find the finishing touch with the visitors hitting the crossbar again late on.

But Aaron King clinched victory for Ewyas Harold when he netted on 92nd minute despite claims from Ledbury that he was in an offside position.

Town must now put this disappointment behind them as they look forward to facing Bartestree in the first round of the Herefordshire FA County Challenge Cup competition on Saturday (2pm).

After having a break from Division One action last weekend, Ledbury Town Reserves will also be hoping to improve upon their current lowly 11th position when they visit Ludlow Town Colts on Saturday (2.30pm).
