HANLEY Swan made a good start in Cheltenham League Division One, coming from behind twice to beat Cheltenham Civil Service Reserves 3-2.

The visitors scored with the first attack of the game but within minutes Kev Moore shot just over before a corner flicked on by Chris Aston was hit home by new signing Sam Daly.

The game was fairly even until midway through the half when CCS were awarded a penalty for handball which was converted.

Hanley went looking for the equaliser and were rewarded just before half-time when Jackson McMullen took advantage of a mistake by the defence and supplied Aston who scored.

The first part of the second half saw Hanley play some good football with Tom Morris, Richard Foley, McMullen and Moore all going close.

As the half progressed CCS started to put pressure on the defence creating a number of chances which brought fine saves from Dan Rawlings in goal.

However, Hanley were not giving up on getting the win, an excellent run by Foley forced a corner and Morris headed home the resulting kick through a crowd of players.

Hanley's next game is at Tewkesbury Town on Saturday (2.30pm).
