OMBERSLEY knocked Berkswell off the top of the Birmingham League Premier Division with a surprise Duckworth–Lewis win.

They had reached 65-2 in 24.2 overs after bowling Berkswell out for 165 when rain prevented further play.

The DLS par score at the time was 61 which meant Ombersley won by four runs.

Grant Thornton top scored for Berkswell with 64 while Ombersley’s opening attack of Gareth Andrew (4-32) and Ted Baylis (3-40) caused problems.

Basement boys Barnt Green lost by 55 runs. Zain Ul-Hassan (5-32) and skipper Andy Sutton (3-37) helped bowl Moseley out for 218 but Green fell 55 runs short on the DLS system with 114-7 from 26 overs.

Division One leaders Kidderminster lost by six wickets to second-placed Shifnal.

The Chester Road side closed on 205-9 with Chad Brandrick taking 4-42 and no batsman scoring more than 30.

A fourth-wicket partnership of 94 between Steve Leach (96 not out) and Ross Aucott (46) eased Shifnal to victory with nearly five overs in hand.

A patchy Bromsgrove batting effort saw them restricted to 177-9 with Halesowen seamer Charlie Hartley taking 3-43.

The game was halted by rain with Halesowen on 150-1 after 33 overs which left them winners by 63 runs after Jamie Harris hit 75no.

Adam Wiffen scored 67 in Barnards Green’s total of 239 all out at Oswestry with 4-50 for Ian Davies and 3-24 for Roman Walker.

Clarke’s Worcestershire team-mate George Rhodes took 3-43 for Green.

County ace Daryl Mitchell hit 104 for second-from-bottom Brockhampton as they scored 275-6 in a 44-run defeat of Tamworth.

Rob West hit 41 for Bank while Tom Harris (3-40) and Joel Haslam (3-44) were their most successful bowlers.
