WORCESTERSHIRE League Division Two high-fliers Bromyard bounced back from their heavy defeat to Himbleton with a thumping 274-run win over visitors Kempsey.
Having won the toss and chosen to bat first on a warm afternoon at Flaggoners Green, Bromyard piled up 332-5 from their 50 overs.
It was chiefly thanks to Edd Oliver (106) and Nick Leighton (91) who shared an opening stand of 217.
Zahid Saeed (43) and Josh van Rensburg (43 not out off 16 balls) then added quick runs to take Bromyard to an imposing total.
In reply, under-strength Kempsey had no answer to van Rensburg’s nippy away swing as he took 4-31 from 10 overs to blow away their top order.
Medium-pacer James Owens then claimed a career-best 5-8 from five overs as Kempsey were all out for just 58 in 22 overs.
With Bredon and Coombs Wood both losing, Bromyard regained top spot.
They host eighth-placed Old Vigornians at Flaggoners Green on Saturday.
