BROMYARD Cricket Club have re-signed former Sri Lankan Test player Dinusha Fernando as their overseas player.
Fernando has been playing first-class and list ‘A’ cricket for Colombo in his home country over the winter but will return in time for the start of Bromyard’s campaign.
The 35-year-old played two Test matches and a one-day international for Sri Lanka against England in the 2003-04 season.
In three campaigns at Bromyard, he has racked up 2,576 runs in 56 matches in the Worcestershire League at an average of 75.76, which includes seven tons and 17 half-centuries.
With the ball, he has taken 113 wickets at an average of 22.21, including four five-wicket hauls.
Bromyard finished second from bottom in Division One last year but were reprieved as Harvington could not field three teams this season.
They start with a home derby against Colwall on April 25.
