MALVERN Town head into the Worcester Infirmary Cup final tomorrow with manager Les Jones optimistic over the future.
They tackle West Midlands Football League Premier Division rivals Bewdley Town at the Langland Stadium (3pm) after finishing 13th in the table, two points above rivals Bromyard.
Jones felt Malvern’s performances against the better teams were stronger and they should have finished three or four places higher.
But he said: “Our young team have done well. We will be looking to add a couple of players.
“We were very competitive against the top teams but lost games against those below us.”
The likes of Reece King, Jamie Smith, Harry Wickett and Lewis Platt will have benefited from the season’s experience, Jones added.
Malvern reserves finished bottom of Division Two after a 7-1 defeat at Wolverhampton Sporting Community Reserves. Jack Green scored.
Malvern Rangers sit sixth after a 3-2 win over Team Dudley through Bryan Craven, Paul Edwards and David Perera.
