NEWTOWN Sports Juniors finished their Mercian Festival Junior League Under Nines Division One campaign in style with a 3-1 win over Worcester Colts.

A close first-half saw visitors Worcester take the lead but Sports hit back after the break with three goals from Joe Haywood (2) and Ollie Bray to make it four consecutive victories.

Bromyard rounded off their campaign with a 2-1 win at Leintwardine as Beale netted twice.

He said: “We have quality in this team and will definitely be going for the title next season too. Our debut season has gone better than most of us thought but I’m used to winning and want success.”

Bromyard Colts boosted their Herefordshire Sunday League Premier Division title prospects with a 4-0 win over high-flying Allstars from Ledbury. Matt Gwynne (3) and Luke Rogers scored.

  • MALVERN Rangers drew 2-2 with Red Star Alma and 1-1 with Newport Town while beating Tenbury United 4-2. Bryan Craven, Ricky Buckland and David Perera were among the scorers.

Bromyard Town ended the Premier Division season with a 3-2 home defeat to county rivals Wellington.
