NEWTOWN Sports Juniors finished their Mercian Festival Junior League Under Nines Division One campaign in style with a 3-1 win over Worcester Colts.

A close first-half saw visitors Worcester take the lead but Sports hit back after the break with three goals from Joe Haywood (2) and Ollie Bray to make it four consecutive victories.

  • BROMYARD boss Matt Beale believes his side can achieve back-to-back titles after winning Herefordshire League Division Three in their maiden season.

The former Hereford United player also guided the team to Peterson Cup success, beating Orleton in his first managerial job.

Bromyard rounded off their campaign with a 2-1 win at Leintwardine as Beale netted twice.

He said: “We have quality in this team and will definitely be going for the title next season too. Our debut season has gone better than most of us thought but I’m used to winning and want success.”

Bromyard Colts boosted their Herefordshire Sunday League Premier Division title prospects with a 4-0 win over high-flying Allstars from Ledbury. Matt Gwynne (3) and Luke Rogers scored.
