PROMOTED Worcester Nomads crashed to their third consecutive Birmingham and District Premier League Division Three defeat.

Their bowlers struggled at home to early leaders Penn who amassed 332-5 before dismissing the Bransford side for just 113.

Derek Austin top-scored with 34 not out after taking two wickets.

But Nomads seconds beat Eastnor by 27 runs in a Division Two South derby after restricting the hosts to 170-9 following their total of 197 all out.

On a cold, wet and blustery day, Nomads were asked to bat first with Roger Dixon (38) and Andy Leach (60) putting on 66 runs for the second wicket.

Wickets started to tumble but Leach held them together aided by a constant flow of wides.

Tom Marsh (24) helped increase the score as Eastnor bowled out Nomads for 197 off 42.2 overs.

Due to rain interruptions, the home side needed 189 to win off 38 overs but found runs hard to come by against the in-form Alex Williams (1-21) and Joe Elliott (1-20).

Marsh and Tom Baker also took a wicket each.

Josh Emery (34) and Tom Hurrell (35) made starts but could not go on as Dominic Badger bowled well for his 2-33, removing the former.

With 60 runs required off the last 10 overs, Nick Jones and Leach also claimed a wicket to leave Eastnor on 170-8.
