MALVERN Cycle Sports tackled the Welsh Mountain Bike XC Championships third round.
A tough course with steep gradients tested the riders and while Dave Creber led for much of the way in the junior male section, he was overtaken on the final lap.
Sophie Fennel, however, won the female junior section and was second in the women’s elite race.
Ollie Harcombe suffered a puncture on the first lap but ended fourth, having changed his tyre on the course.
Mathew O’Toole was fourth, Chris Ashley fifth, and Tom Creber eighth in the sports male division.
In the youth section, Josh Brooks was sixth, Stan Pritchard 10th and Louis Brooks 10th in the juvenile male.
Grand veteran Greg Fitzpatrick achieved his best result this year of fourth.
