MALVERN Hills reached the English Indoor Bowling Association Championships triples quarter-finals in Nottingham.
Luke Harwood, 27, the experienced Mark Atkins and 18-year-old Ryan Atkins beat West Denton, Durham, 23-4 in the first round and then defeated Desborough, Maidenhead, 16-9.
They set up a quarter-final with the likes of former world number one Greg Harlow and Nick Brett from City of Ely, Cambridgeshire, but the fine run ended in a narrow 16-13 loss to the eventual winners.
In the pairs, Shaun Jones and Andrew Walters won 24- 16 against Beccles, Norfolk, but lost in the second round 19-17 to Essex County.
