HANLEY Swan’s Cheltenham Association League Division Two title hopes were dealt another blow with a 6-0 home thrashing by leaders Gala Wilton Reserves.

The hosts had the better of the opening exchanges but fell behind to the first attack from Gala who were boosted by first teamers.

A quick double and another goal just before half-time gave the visitors a comfortable lead.

Second-placed Hanley reorganised and started the second period with more purpose, creating a number of chances and forcing two good saves.

However, by pushing forward, they left themselves open at the back and Gala scored two late goals to put the result beyond doubt.

Hanley are now eight points behind with a game in hand.
