THE Worcestershire members were successful at two county events.
In the Droitwich Shield Scratch Foursomes for teams of six players, the Malvern Wells club defeated Kings Norton ‘A’ 2-1 at home.
Steven Lane and Philip Shurmer won the top game but Tom Howells and Carl Baylis lost the second and Peter Lupino and David Marshall were two down with two to play.
Lupino and Marshall remained firm, however, and eventually triumphed on the 19th hole.
In the Kidderminster Cup Scratch Foursomes for teams of six players aged 55 and over, The Worcestershire defeated Redditch ‘B’ 2-1 at home.
Terry Smith and Paul Ford won the top game and Barry Caswell and Ralph Kelsall secured a winning second point before Terry Lloyd and Stan Jones lost.
