MALVERN Radar maintained their 100 per cent record in Worcester and District League Sunday Division One.

They hammered Droitwich Sports 8-2 with Louis Loader hitting a hat-trick, while Callow End enjoyed a fine 4-3 success at CMB Sports in the top-flight.

In Division Two, Malvern Rangers beat Blue Star 2-1 but Inter Express went down 4-0 at Worcester Lynx.

Malvern Victoria also lost on their travels, 5-3 at Claines, in Division Three.

Visitors Leigh and Bransford Badgers won a basement encounter 6-4 but it was hard-earned against plucky hosts Riverside.

Ollie Bond headed Badgers ahead on five minutes from Shelim Ahmed’s cross before 45-year-old Neil Grimshaw nodded in his first competitive goal in 20 years.

Riverside, helped by the muddy conditions, hit back with two quick goals in the Division Five clash but the visitors regained the initiative through Nick Medakovic’s header.

Bottom-of-the-table Riverside produced another equaliser early in the second period and their keeper saved Andy Harris’ penalty.

But Harris finally found the net to make it 4-3 before veterans Rich Davies and Dean Sibthorpe stretched the advantage to make a late reply just a consolation.

Malvern Hills suffered their first defeat in seven games as they lost 5-2 to Katy O’Ryans in Saturday Division Two.

They started well as Matt McIntosh beat a defender and was brought down in the box before converting the penalty.

James Price crashed a volley against the bar but poor defending saw Hills ship four goals. Carl Foskett pulled one back late on from a Craig Tommey through-ball and Lee Soley then hit the post with 10 minutes left before they conceded a late penalty.

Leigh and Bransford Badgers went down 2-1 at home to Pig and Drum in the same division.

Sunday’s Worcester league matches will be preceded by a one-minute silence for Remembrance Day.
