A BESPOKE cabinet making and specialist in architectural joinery businesses sees staff use skills which have been mastered through years of making, using antiquated hand tools and age-old methods.

John Beavan, based in Tenbury Wells, was established in 1983 and the business creates 'one off' exquisite and unique bespoke pieces of luxury furniture.

John Beavan was inspired by woodwork and from a very early age.

His talents unfolded during his woodwork lessons at school and then fully realised when John started formal training at Shrewsbury College of Art and Design.

John’s expert cabinet maker skills have been mastered through years of making, using antiquated hand tools and age-old methods.

Every piece of work is meticulously handmade, implementing, exacting precision, involving gold-leafing, carving and marquetry.

Each piece becomes a unique and individual ‘sculptural work of art’ which makes his furniture sought-after and valuable.

The business became renowned as a 21st century cabinet maker when Sotheby's of London sold a collection of Regency pieces made for a private client.

One of the company's most memorable moments came when after a late finish at Goodwood House The Duke of Richmond brought out two bottles of champagne and allowed the team to sit in Napoleons Chair.
