POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a van crashed into a tree - which has left a 72-year-old in a serious condition.
The incident happened on Astwood Lane in Redditch yesterday afternoon (July 2).
A white Peugeot Partner van was seen swerving onto the opposite lane, before drifting back onto the correct side of the carriageway.
The vehicle then stopped after colliding with a tree on the verge.
The driver was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham where he remains in intensive care.
Emergency services were called at 3.19pm and two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent out.
The road, which is located between Feckenham and Astwood Bank, was completely closed in both directions.
