THERE have been no new deaths from coronavirus recorded in Worcestershire hospitals for the second successive day.

Latest figures from NHS England show the number of deaths in county hospitals remains at 302

The latest figures refer to deaths recorded in the 24 hours leading up to 5pm on July 1, and do not necessarily refer to deaths happening on that day, only deaths recorded on that day.

In the latest figures, the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has 274 recorded deaths from coronavirus, while the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has recorded 28 deaths.

This means there have been at least 521 deaths from coronavirus in Worcestershire in all settings.

Elsewhere, a further 35 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,794.

Patients were aged between 54 and 92 years old. Two patients, aged 54 and 84, had no known underlying health conditions.

The figures on deaths relate to patients who have died in hospital and who have tested positive for Covid-19. They do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes, prisons, ambulances or in the community.

The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust covers the Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Evesham Community Hospital as well as the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.
