MORE than 3,000 people in Worcestershire have now asked for help from the Here2Help campaign.

It runs alongside the work being done by voluntary groups like Teme Tenbury.

Here2Help was launched by Worcestershire County Council in March to link people and organisations offering help, with people in the county who needed support during the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.

The kind of support being offered through Here2Help is food and medicine deliveries, as well as a volunteer putting someone’s bin out or walking their dog.

“Isolating at home for many weeks can take its toll, especially if you don’t have family or friends nearby,” said Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities.

“With 3,000 people now registered to get help, and over 2,000 volunteers offering to help, we are working hard to link people who want to help, with those that need it.”

Anyone needing non-urgent help should go to www.worcestershire.gov.uk/here2helpwebsite and click on the ‘I need help’ button.
