ONE more patient has died at Wye Valley NHS Trust in Herefordshire after testing positive for coronavirus, NHS England has said.

It brings the total number of deaths in the county to five, as the UK's death toll reaches 3,605.

Latest figures show 684 more people have died in hospital across the country after testing positive for coronavirus, as of 5pm on Thursday.

These figures do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes. NHS England added the current totals may not include all deaths that occurred on recent days.

In Herefordshire, 51 people have now tested positive for Covid-19, an increase of four from the previous day.

The figures, which includes cases up to 9am today (Friday), show 173,784 people have been tested for coronavirus in the UK, of which 38,168 tested positive.

Public Health England said 11,764 tests were carried out on Thursday in England, while testing capacity for inpatient care in the country currently stands at 12,799 tests per day.
