WYCHAVON District Council is allowing people to park for free in all of its car parks as part of a range of measures designed to support people through the coronavirus outbreak.

The move has been introduced to help people while shopping for essentials and support volunteers caring for the vulnerable.

Free parking was introduced last week for NHS, health and adult social care workers.

These workers can also park for free, and for any length of time, in on-street parking bays while on essential duties and displaying evidence such as a photocopy of their ID badge.

Council staff are also working to maintain services including waste and recycling collections.

These remain unaffected, although bulky waste collections have been stopped until further notice. People are also being asked not to carry out house, shed or garage clearances unless they can store the waste created.
