A REDDITCH man is paying a high price for driving while using his mobile phone in a car with a defective tyre.
Maxim Delphan, aged 22 of The Glebe, Beoley was fined a total of £496 and given six penalty points.
Worcestershire magistrates also instructed Delphan, who pleaded guilty to both offences, to pay £60 costs and a £33 victim surcharge.
Also before Worcestershire Magistrates:
Alec Walker, aged 36, from Donnington Close, Redditch pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
He was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £21 victim surcharge.
Tom Brassington, aged 28, of Honeychurch Close, Redditch, was conditionally discharged for 12 months and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £150 costs and a £21 victim surcharge after he admitted assault and destroying a mobile phone.
John Armitage, aged 50, from Caynham Close, Redditch, was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £184, ordered to pay £135 and a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted driving with excess alcohol in his breath.
Michael Craft was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250 and ordered to pay £100 costs plus a £32 victim surcharge after he admitted driving while unfit through drugs.
Charlie Neath, aged 19, of Laceby Close, Redditch, was given six penalty points, fined £230 and ordered to pay £60 costs after he admitted driving without insurance.
Delicia McKenzie, aged 32, of High Street, Studley, was given six penalty points, fined £120 and ordered to pay £135 costs and a £32 victim surcharge after she admitted driving without insurance.
McKenzie was fined a further £40 for obstructing a police officer.
Terence Beck, aged 64, of Ashton Close, Redditch, was fined £660 and given six penalty points after he was convicted of failing to provide the identity of the driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged offence.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.
