READERS have been having their say on the latest First Worcestershire changes to the county service that come into force tomorrow.

From Sunday the number of 144 and 144A services running between Birmingham and Bromsgrove are being reduced, down to hourly throughout the week - a reduction from every 30 minutes.

It will mean Droitwich and Worcester bus users will find the service that operates under the Salt Road name will find the buses terminate at Bromsgrove, with a wait for another bus to Birmingham or Worcester.

Readers spoke of their frustration.

David Pritchard said: "They could do with reducing the prices.

Rory Fagan said: "We're all paying more for less."

Jez Cole said: "I used the service years ago and there weren't that many then."

Alan Broom said: "It is disgusting and the council needs to terminate any tenders with them."

Rose Hooper said: "Soon be walking everywhere."

Zana Zahir posted an angry face on her Facebook comment, and wrote: "It's better to shut down the bus station and use the space for something else."

Rosie Furlong said: "The 144 takes people up Droitwich Road so how are they supposed to get anywhere. Go green and bus you all say - why should people leave their cars at home when you cannot guarantee a reliable and efficient service."

June Binyon said: "There will soon be no bus service at all in Worcester. Many people living in the north of the city use this service because the city service is already almost non-existent."

Alan Broom added: "The word "service" is not applicable to First who have chosen to remove transport - the elderly and disabled are vulnerable and isolated owing to removal of transport."
