KIDDERMINSTER music fans are invited to an evening of opera, songs from the shows and Christmas favourites at an upcoming gala concert.

The Sanctuary at Christmas concert will delight enthusiasts for a noble cause this festive season at Kidderminster Town Hall on Sunday, December 15.

Bewdley Choral Society, full orchestra Central England Ensemble and soloists Paula Downes, Elizabeth MacDonald and Alan Fairs will be performing at the event.

They will be playing opera highlights as well as show tunes and well-loved Christmas classics.

All the proceeds for the Christmas concert will go to The Salvation Army.

The event is organised by Anna Downes, who founded the concert series Music for Sanctuary in an effort to raise money for homeless charities.

Since its formation at the start of 2019 the series has staged 14 concert, raising £4183 for Wyre Forest Night Stop, Black Country Foodbank, Leslie's Care Packages and Good Shepherd Wolverhampton.

Tickets for the concert cost £10 and are available by calling 07967 728588 or by emailing ardviolinist@gmail.com.
