A CONVICTED robber has admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Dean Gilhespy who is living at an approved premises in Ombersley Road, Worcester pleaded guilty to the assault when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday.
The assault was committed against Robert Jones on October 20 this year.
Martin Butterworth, defending, confirmed his client was on licence for robbery.
He said: “He tells me he feels he has been doing well. His drug problem has abated. He’s now on a script.
"It’s for that reason I ask that he’s given the opportunity for a pre-sentence report to see whether there has been progress or not.”
Recorder David Mason QC granted the adjournment to allow the preparation of the report.
Gilhespy, aged 31, previously of Canberra Close, Bromsgrove is next scheduled to appear on December 17 for sentence.
He was granted bail to appear at that hearing.
