AN ex-carpenter turned dancer from Bromsgrove has been asked to review the new series of Strictly.
John-James, who hyphenates his name because it looks more showbiz, has been asked to review Strictly Come Dancing 2019.
The dance teacher, who owns the company New Salsa, has slowly become the real deal on the dancefloor.
But his journey from jobbing chippy to salsa smoothie has been circuitous.
Although he trained and worked as a carpenter straight from school, he had always had a "second life" as an entertainer, working the clubs, pubs and parties, weekends and evenings as a magician.
Then he discovered mind reading, auto suggestion and psychology, before becoming a hypnotherapist, psychotherapist and a certified practitioner of neuro linguistic programming.
He then discovered dancing and took salsa lessons in Birmingham.
A few years later he was an expert.
John-James' reviews are featured on The Evening Show, 7pm to 10pm, on BBC Hereford and Worcester or via newsalsa-salsa.co.uk.
