BROMSGROVE Acorns Children's Hospice shop is appealing for donations of toys in the run-up to Christmas.

From scooters to soft toys and Barbie dolls to board games, the shop, on the High Street, will welcome all.

Gary Pettit, head of retail and retail operations at Acorns, said: “Our shop managers are telling us that now is the perfect time to have a good clear out and help us keep our shops fully stocked in the run up to Christmas.

“The festive period is a really busy time for us as people start to shop for toys to give as presents and we want to make sure our shelves are brimming with the best bargain buys and stocking fillers."

Acorns offers specialist palliative care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, as well as support for their families.

The charity needs £27,000 per day to provide its care and support services with its network of more than 50 shops across the West Midlands playing a key part in helping to raise those funds.

Anyone who would like to donate toys can take them along to their local Acorns shop. To find your nearest Acorns shop, visit www.acorns.org.uk/shop-locator

Gary added: “We rely on donations to keep our shops stocked.

"So, if you’ve got any games, dolls, toys, action figures, jigsaws and teddies in need of a new home, why not donate them to your local Acorns shop and help children and families in Bromsgrove this Christmas.”
