TWO brothers from Bromsgrove Preparatory School are celebrating after their success at the IAME International Karting World Championship in Le Mans last week.
After being crowned Vice Champion last year, Freddie Slater was out for a win in 2019. He had been leading all week and was the fastest in his group.
In the final race, Slater met with tough competition from Great Britain, Japan, Italy and USA.
The racer went wheel to wheel with a fellow competitor which resulted in a run over the grass.
Slater then made a great comeback from 9th to 2nd in two laps, finishing as Vice Champion.
Alfie Slater, Freddie’s younger brother also had a successful ten days of racing also finishing in 2nd place as Vice Champion in his group.
The karting duo are now relaxing before the start of school and are looking forward to their next karting challenge.
