A WITCH, a vampire, a demon and a whole host of otherworldly creatures banded together to raise a frightful amount for charity.
Worcester-based theatrical dance troupe, Coven of the Mandragora Moon, held their second Halloween Ball on Saturday, October 19 at Abberley Village Hall in Abberley.
The ball saw dance troupes from Worcester, Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Herefordshire and further afield put on their most horrifying costumes and dance to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The event raised £1,000 and troupe director, Camille Lee, said: “There are five of us 'wyrd sisters' who dance in Coven of the Mandragora Moon and we’ve been dancing together for two years now. We have a particular style of dance which we call Occult-fusion, which draws on various styles including disco, jazz, ballet, tap, modern and belly-dance.
“We dance to darker music and appreciate the creepy things in life. So while for us every day is Halloween, we like to do something special to mark the occasion each October and this year Cancer Research UK was close to our hearts. We are thrilled to have raised so much with our graveyard smash and we want to thank all of the dancers and guests who joined us on the night, and all of the businesses who donated to our ghoulish raffle – we couldn’t have done it without you all.”
