FROM humble beginnings at Gran's kitchen table it's been a long journey for one Herefordshire company as their brand hits the shelves of a big-name supermarket.

Founded by brothers Jacob and Sam James, Herefordshire-based dressing brand Tigg's offers a range of innovative and tasty sauces inspired by the culinary talents of their grandmother - Granny Tigg.

The pair grew up enjoying Tigg’s zingy sauces that were ever-present on their salads, meats and even in their sandwiches.

And they were not alone in their appreciation of their gran's flavour combinations, with their brand developed from her recipes going from strength to strength since it was launched in 2014.

Now they are celebrating their latest success, as their low calorie, vegan sauces hit the shelves of Tesco.

"Not only are they low in calories, saturated fats and added sugars, they are also cardioprotective, which means that the main ingredients come from fruits and vegetables instead of cheaper filler ingredients such as water, sunflower oil or vinegar, like many other products on the market," the brothers said.

"The products are also free of gluten, dairy, nuts, wheat and made from 100% natural, fresh and unpasteurised ingredients.

"Each variety is fun and cheeky, and can be used as dressing, sauce, marinade, and dip."

Tigg's sauces went on sale in more than 400 Tesco stores at the beginning of the week.
